The Pelham Road Development is JDA’s latest London project and comprises of 6No. proposed Townhouses at two and a half stories in height, and includes accommodation within the roof space and basement. Each house has been configured to allow the kitchen and dinning areas to extend into large rear gardens. The basements have been designed with high floor to ceiling heights. Carefully placed roof lights to the front and rear allow natural light into the sitting rooms. The terrace configuration and pitched roof treatment draws from examples in the local area. The materials for the scheme include London Stock brick, slate, bronze window boxes and frames and walnut doors. These have been chosen to respect the style and character of other buildings in neighbouring Montague Street. The proposal draws on nearby examples of interesting brick detailing which is particularly apparent in the building opposite the site. Carefully considered brick detailing shown in the horizontal brick banding composed in a double soldier course which helps to visually tie the terrace together. The scheme has recently been granted planning permission.
